OPG Winter Festival of Lights a finalist for Top Festival Award

The Festival needs your vote to help them win the Ontario Choice Award

Niagara Falls, ON – The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) received some exciting news recently. Niagara’s annual lighting festival has earned a spot with six other finalist in the Ontario Choice Awards for Top Festival & Event (see page 2 for finalists).

On April 25th Attractions Ontario announced the finalist in its second annual Ontario’s Choice Awards, the awards cover eight categories featuring a wide range of attractions and events throughout the province. Winners will be determined by online voting on the Attractions Ontario website (http://attractionsontario.ca/top-festival-and-event).

“Thanks to our hard-working team and support from stakeholders in the community, the Festival has made significant improvements over the past three years”, said Tina Myers Executive Director of the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights. “We’re honoured to be recognized among so many great attractions across Ontario.”

The contest allows individuals to vote once every twenty-four hours, voting closes on October 5th and winners are announced on October 6th. The attraction that has the most votes overall will earn the Attraction of the Year award which is presented at the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario’s Annual Gala in November.

The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights transforms Niagara Falls into a winter wonderland with millions of sparkling lights and breathtaking illuminations. The Festival’s 35th season will open on November 18th and run until January 31st.
