In Dufferin Islands, also known as The Great Canadian Outdoors, visitors are awed by displays of Canadian wildlife – both modern and prehistoric – that include moose and buffalo, howling wolves, charging rams, bears, beavers, whales, deer, and dinosaurs that roamed the land millions of years ago. These are complemented by close to 200,000 LED tree lights that create a mystical aura of illumination. An absolutely wonderful visual experience, it also includes displays of aboriginal life as well as the popular Noah’s Ark display. Have you noticed the animals walking off the Ark are indigenous to Canada?
There is no admission fee to view the illuminations but donations are gratefully accepted by Festival Ambassadors at the exit of Dufferin Islands (suggested contribution $5 - $10 per car), with proceeds used to enhance the Festival’s lights and displays. Tour groups are encouraged to donate $1/person on the bus.
