Ontario Power Generation Opening Ceremonies with Disney launches the 30th annual CAA Winter Festival of Lights on Saturday, November 3 at 5:45pm with a fantastic stage show on an outdoor stage in Queen Victoria Park – just a few steps from the Falls!
The ceremonies will last just over an hour and will feature performances by Niagara’s own International Grand Champion of Magic, Greg Frewin, the cast of the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show, the Wendy Leard School of Dance and the famed Festival Choir.
The show is highlighted by an appearance of honoured guests – MICKEY MOUSE, MINNIE MOUSE and DAISY DUCK as well as Santa Claus himself, who makes the trip from the North Pole.
As always, Ontario Power Generation Opening Ceremonies with Disney concludes with the dramatic flipping of a giant switch to illuminate the Festival’s three million lights and launch the first fireworks display over the Falls of the 2012-2013 winter season.
For those who miss the 5:45pm show, we do it all again at 7pm complete with fireworks, but without the flipping of the switch. After all, once we have all those lights on, we don’t want to shut them off again so soon!
We invite you to bring the entire family to kick off the festive season at Canada’s foremost illumination festival, in its most famous address – Niagara Falls.
Note: Times are approximate and schedule is subject to change. This is a rain or shine event. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Some seating is available for the 7:00 pm show, however feel free to bring lawn chairs as they are permitted. Parking is available nearby across from Table Rock and at the Skylon Tower. Food and drink concessions provided by The Niagara Parks Commission will be available as well.
