The Crown is Up for Grabs - Which Band Will Become the Inaugural Rock the Ice Nights Champions?

Battle of the Bands Competition Showcases Musical Talent from across the Region



Niagara Falls, ON – After 10 fantastic weeks of competition, Rock the Ice Nights concludes Thursday, February 25th with Aintree, St. Paul Catholic High School (Niagara Falls); Athena Flashing, St. Michael’s Catholic High School (Niagara Falls); and Xprime, Ecole Secondaire Jean Vanier (Welland) battling for the Rock the Ice Nights crown. The evening begins at 7:00pm. Cost of admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased from participating bands or at the Rink at the Brink.



Meanwhile, voting for the Fans Fav Award on www.niagarafallsreview.ca has now closed. The band with the most overall votes at 3,557 was Avoiding the Afterlife.



Rock the Ice Nights champions will be awarded a number of career-enhancing prizes including 20 hours of studio time provided by Winding Path Media, a video shoot to occur at the Niagara Centre for the Performing Arts provided by Media Supply Outlet, and performances at Springalicious and City of Niagara Falls Canada Day Celebrations.

The 28th Annual Winter Festival of Lights begins November 6, 2010. It attracts over 1 million people annually to Niagara Falls, Ontario and has been recognized as a Top 100 Internationally Known Event by the American Bus Association, a Top 100 Ontario Festival and 1 of 18 Ontario Festivals & Events of Distinction by Festivals & Events Ontario. The Festival includes over 3 million sparkling lights and more than 120 spectacular lighting displays, including the world-famous Enchantment of Disney® displays. Additionally, it hosts a calendar full of festive events and activities including: Rink at the Brink, Fireworks over the Falls, CYTEC Candy Cane Lane 5k Race & Fun Run, Christmas Concert Series, Cheerleading Championships and fantastic stage productions.
