[ Back to Media ] Meridian Credit Union Free SK8 Dates Raise Thousands for Niagara Region Food Banks Niagara Falls, ON – The Winter Festival of Lights and Meridian Credit Union are proud to announce that this season’s Free SK8 Dates held at Niagara’s newest wintertime attraction, Rink at the Brink, raised 1,056 lbs. of food donations and $956 cash for a total of $3,596 cash equivalent (with 1 lb. of food equaling $2.50) for Project SHARE, Community Cares and The Hope Centre, Niagara Region’s most-used food banks. A total of 1,994 Niagara Region residents visited the Rink at the Brink during the Meridian Credit Union Free SK8 Dates. “As a proud partner of the Rink at the Brink, Meridian Credit Union jumped at the opportunity to use the Free SK8 Dates to collect donations for the Niagara Region's most used food banks,” stated Tom Naylor, Branch Manager, Meridian Credit Union. “Not only were we able to contribute to our communities by supporting the Rink at the Brink, but we helped raise food and cash for those who need our help. That's what being a good neighbour is about and we are pleased to be able to support our food banks in this way.
