[ Back to Media ]       Time to Illuminate the Greens Festival Announces Details of its 16th Annual Golf Tournament Niagara Falls, ON – The Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) is pleased to announce that its 16th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Whirlpool Golf Course, a Stanley Thompson designed course that Golf Digest has rated a four star facility. Proceeds from the event will be used to maintain and enhance the Festival’s numerous illuminations. The tournament is a scramble format with double tee-off times. Registration begins at 10:00 am with tee times beginning at 11:30 am. The day will include 18 holes of golf, green fees, golf cart, golfer gift, contests and golf challenges, lunch-at-the-turn and an outstanding BBQ Dinner Buffet for just $195; those interested in attending the dinner only may do so for $55. A Hole-in-One Contest sponsored by AON Reed will provide golfers the chance to win a 2010 Cadillac CTS valued at $49,800. Other contests include: Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and a Jackpot Hole. A live auction will also take place and will include fantastic packages for the Toronto Maple Leafs; Tennis Canada’s Rogers Cup; and Cisco Ottawa BluesFest, among others. It attracts over 1 million people annually to Niagara Falls, Ontario and has been recognized as a Top 100 Internationally Known Event by the American Bus Association, a Top 100 Ontario Festival and an Ontario Festivals & Events of Distinction by Festivals & Events Ontario. The Festival includes over 3 million sparkling lights and more than 120 spectacular lighting displays, including the world-famous Enchantment of Disney® displays.
